The Boat House @ Cooper River Park
7050 North Park Drive
Pennsauken, NJ 08109

Opening in June of 2006, the Boat House has prime location, right on the banks of the Cooper River, making it an obvious choice for the Rutger's crew team home base. Serving dual purposes not only does this beautiful, nearly brand new facility house many crew boats, it also has a unique, classy banquet room on the second floor. The room with its many widows, overlooks the Cooper River with a wraparound balcony for outdoor shmoozing. The atmosphere inside is comfortable, and the design of the building overall is quite attractive and progressive.

From the first time we walked into the Boat House we knew it was perfect. It captured the relaxed, summery feel we were going for with plenty on natural light. The outdoor deck will give our guests beautiful views of the riverside and offer nice quiet place to step away. All the while being convenient to both of our parents houses and St. Monica's.

Here are the pictures from our Venue walk through. The site was decorated for another wedding and was set up for the maximum number it can hold, which is 200 guests

You walk in the main door and front and center is the reception desk, through the windows behind it you can see all the crew boats being stored. There is an office to the right of the lobby and stairs and an elevator to the left.

When you get off the elevator there is a small area to set up a bar and escort cards

To the side of that is a hallway with the kitchen and 2 conference rooms one the caterer was using as prep and the other was for the bridal party. the next picture is the view off the elevator looking down the hall into the ball room.

The bathrooms were very clean and had ample room plus a little vanity.

The next pictures are all from in the ballroom. The room is divided into 3rds with the dance floor being the middle third. They placed a 2nd bar in the corner of the room and the head table at the top of the dance floor.

They set up the DJ and dessert table on either side of the main doors

They put the buffet table in the one corner closest to the kitchen. There were ten tables of ten on either side of the dance floor.

All the window shutters can be opened or closed and all the doors access the 2nd floor wrap around deck which over looks the river. (my favorite part) While they can't put dinner tables out on the deck you can rent high top tables for the cocktail hour and our DJ is going to put speaker and christmas lights on the banister. No smoking is permitted on the deck - guests must go downstairs and outside.
